SUTURING 101:

THE BASICS FOR BODY SUSPENSION PRACTITIONERS

COST: $50 CAD*

All attendees who register for the Suturing 101 Class will receive a Practice Suture Kit.

*The price of the suturing class is in addition to the cost of Suscon registration.

This intensive, hands-on workshop is designed to give suspension practitioners the foundational knowledge and practical skills needed to respond effectively if suturing is required.

Led by Pat Pierce — professional piercer, long-time suspension practitioner, and founder of the Montreal Suspension Group — this class focuses on real-world application rather than theoretical complexity. Pat brings nearly two decades of experience in body modification, infection control, and advanced safety education, with a teaching background that includes international conferences and professional training programs.

Rather than covering a wide range of techniques, Suturing 101 centres on mastering the most commonly used emergency suture knot and understanding when, why, and how it is applied. Participants will learn the fundamentals of wound types and healing, appropriate equipment selection, proper placement, and sterile technique, followed by instructor-guided hands-on practice.

This course is intended to build confidence, competence, and calm decision-making in high-stakes situations — strengthening the overall safety culture within suspension practice.
